May 5, 1995-March 1, 2010
May 5, 1997 was the best day of my life - it was the day I adopted my sweet Hershey girl form the Guilford County Animal Shelter. She was my very best friend, she loved to cuddle, get endless belly rubs, and chew on her bone. I swear she even learned to roll her eyes whenever I was acting goofy.
I severely broke my ankle falling down the stairs a couple of years ago, which required screws and plates. Hershey saw me fall and she stood at the top of the stairs willing me to get back up. Well I did and was right there pawing and whimpering at me to get to the other side of the room where the phone was. She stuck to my side like glue. If it wasn't for that precious dog urging me on I think I would have gone into shock and been a lot worse off than I was. Even after I was at home recuperating, every time I moved she had to go get my mom to let her know I might need help. What a sweet puppy.
I thank God for every single second I had with her. I miss her with my entire heart, but I'm also thankful that she didn't have to suffer through a long illness. I love you Hershey, thanks for giving me the honor of being your mom - my life was so much better with you in it.
